The World Cup friendlies are nearing an end and the games are a rare opportunity for Bundesliga managers and scouts to have a good look at possible future signings. Dieter Hoeneß was seen watching the game between Croatia and Iran. Hoeneß had his eye in the Iranian midfielder Javad Nekounam (25). Hoeneß admitted: “It is a great chance to see players in action. It is true that we have watched Nekounam.”

Nekounam had already been watched several times by Hertha’s chief scout Rudi Wojtowicz. He even flew to the Emirates to watch the player in action for his current club Sharjah.

It would be a deal which would suit Hertha: The midfielder would not coast anything and he wants to play in Germany: “I want to play in the Bundesliga”, says the midfielder.
