Skipper Ali Daei and midfielder Fereydun Zandi were dropped from Iran’s national football team here Friday.
Newly appointed trainer Amir Qal’e-Noii called up 40 players to get ready for the Asian Nations Cup, but he did not summon regular Daei and left winger Zandi.
The following invited players are to gather at the National Teams Camp, west of Tehran, Sunday.
Defender Mohammad Nosrati will also join the players when he recovers from his leg injury.
