PFDC, HAMBURG
The Bundesliga encounter between struggling sides Hamburg SV and Hannover 96 ended in a goalless stalemate on Saturday afternoon. Hamburg now stand in 15th position, one spot ahead of Hannover.
While the solid Mehdi Mahdavikia played the full 90 minutes as rightback in his first Bundesliga match after his three-match-suspension, Hannover’s Vahid Hashemian was subbed out in minute 68 after a satisfying performance. The striker had no single scoring opportunity himself, however, was involved in the creation of some chances.
Bayern returned to second position of the standings after a deserved 2-0 win over a weak Frankfurt. The Bavarians didn’t show an impressive performance, yet booked the three points thanks to goals by Dutch duo Roy Makaay and Mark van Bommel.
Iranian export Ali Karimi played the final 15 minutes of the game, showed an average performance but once more didn’t have any outstanding scene in a situation in which the match was already decided.
